How do you define an AI chatbot's personality and character? Soul.md is an AI character configuration format used to define a chatbot's personality and tone. The sharper the archetype, the stronger the AI Soul's personality: a cold detective stepping out of a film into reality, a wise mythic oracle, a hot-blooded anime lead, a sharp-tongued sidekick, each letting the AI talk to visitors in a distinctive voice.

The Master Sitemap decides what the chatbot should say (the knowledge layer); the AI Soul decides how it should say it (the personality layer). Their division of labor is clear and non-interfering: the same site content and the same retrieval logic, paired with a different AI Soul, produce a completely different conversation. Classic archetypes from film, myth, and anime each carry a distinct speaking rhythm, word choice, emotional arc, and worldview.

When a visitor talks with your chatbot, what they remember is often not a particular answer but the "person" who answered them. A serious brand needs a trustworthy advisor's tone, a creative blog suits a thoughtful peer, and a gaming community deserves a hot-blooded companion.
